Happy New Year 2019

Well Another Year has gone by… 2018 Goodbye and Hello 2019… Wow the year went by way too fast… I digress, Let’s talk a little about our night last night… We celebrated at Disneyland and then went over to DCA. It was not that busy on NYE TBH… When i worked at Disneyland in the early 2000’s, the first NYE i experienced it was horrible… it was Wall to Wall people and not fun…

Picture taken as we first entered Disneyland.

Picture taken as we first entered Disneyland.

So let me start out and say out day started early at least for me… I had to be at work at 5am so we could all be off at 130pm as the office i worked for the building was closing at 2pm. In years past the company i work for would give us 2 hours off. Start at 7am and then you work 6 hours and then you are out of the office… not this year. i guess they were in more of a bah humbug mood, not as generous as in years previous. Oh well that is business.

So i was able to get a 45 min nap in before we left for the park… Upon entering the park we were greeted by these photo pass opportunities of course we had to take advantage and get a picture to remember our night. After we got our photo take we immediately went to get dinner. We headed to the Redrose Tavern. Did i mention yet that it was WINDY. So windy in fact that they had cancelled the fireworks. Yep they cancelled the fireworks. Oh well, that was not the reason we came to the Happiest place on earth on this wonderful Day.

We came to Eat and party and enjoy the rides and ambiance.

We ate at the red rose tavern. i got the burger, it was dry i wouldn’t recommend it, and then Matthew got the Pot roast Poutine fries (i think that is what they were) he thoroughly enjoyed them.

SO WINDY… So much fun… check out the video below to join us on our night…

Happy NEW YEAR 2019 heres to nothing but good things to come in this year…

Let's Chat about Churros...

Here in California at the wonderful theme park that is Disneyland they have been experimenting a plenty with the Churros... and I have to tell you I think our fave was the pumpkin spice they had in October. However we have tried quite a few...

I have included our reviews of the Carrot Cake and the Pinapple Churros... if you want to see the Somewhat review we did on the Pumpkin churro check out our youtube channel Schultzfam...

Churros Are very much a Disneyland California (it saddens me that have I have to include that as Disneyland was the original park and Paris will forever to me be EuroDisney, I digress) Staple. So it is only natural that the culinary world if you will would experiment with different flavors, and only natural to have them served at the California Parks. What I dont understand is this AP Churro Challenge... You pay $5 for a button and a map... that is basically what you are doing. it's not like you are Given a time frame to do this in or its a scavenger hunt.

I hate to be the Debbie downer on this ooey, gooey cake and sugar filled parade, I know I am completely missing the boat on this. Don't get me wrong I just dont understand it, I mean its not like you paid for the churros in advance or that you are getting a discount on the churros. This is just another way to market the churros that I normally would have tried anyways. Definitely leave a comment below if you have done the Churro challenge, if you disagree with me or even if you do agree with me... I would love to know your thoughts? Have you tried any of the Churros? if so which one is your fave. I will have to do a disclaimer on this Matthew tried the Ants one that can be found in Bugs land and he said it was ok. He went without me and the camera so no footage...

Thanks again for reading and taking the time out of your busy day to listen to my mumblings... I know you have many vlogs and blogs to choose from and we appreciate you stopping by...

Pixar Pier

Pixar Pier

Opening Day of

PIXAR PIER

Signage and line for the Incredicoaster

Signage and line for the Incredicoaster

We got into the park a little after 9am, and the line for the incredicoaster was already a few hours long. We decided to go straight to the fast pass machine so that way I can get a FP and hoping it will be with in the same time frame as my Mother in Law and Matthews Max pass, which we ended up with a 10 min overlapping window... so we went for it...

We walked around a bit on the pier before we went and did Guardians since my MIL had yet to experience it. We got Hit me with your best shot if you were wondering. it was only a 35 min wait at best, compared to last summer when we waited 4 hours on opening day.

They have so many details everywhere that we really need to go and really check it out when its not so crazy. The pier that is...  I know that wont happen for awhile so we will be taking Pixar pier in pieces if you will. The main objective on Saturday was really to get to ride the incredicoaster which our mission was accomplished on that front. On one visit we will try the food and possible the pal a round... but lets be honest all of this is the same Attractions just a new theme, one to Better incorporate the whole Pixar universe and giving it a home.

Even though it was busy we didn't see anyone that we know. But as we were leaving the pier after our Ride on the Incredicoaster we did see the people behind the Fresh baked youtube channel as well as Jake from Adventures with Jake, he was in the standby line for the coaster while we were zipping up the FP line. I know that our friends the Parkhopbears were there in that same time frame and we still seemed to miss each other.  Go check out their video of their time at the Newly Opened Pixar pier... I included their channel to the side here...

Overall I think that Disney did a great job of giving New life to the Pier... It was a lot of people on Saturday but I heard there was even more on Sunday. I suppose the Lower Tiered passes were blocked out on Saturday and that is what caused the influx on Sunday since they are wanting to check out the New Rethemed pier that is opening in pieces... I cant wait to try the food, we figure when it dies down a few Weeks or months...

As always we know that there are many vlogs and Blogs out there and I appreciate you taking the time reading my thoughts and sharing...

Thank you...

Korie

Tribe Tyler week 4 Leading Lines

I am loving this photo challenge, as it is getting me out there and getting my creative juices flowing again... For week for we are working on Leading Lines... I will admit this week I sort of cheated as I picked a photo that I had taken a few years ago... the top photo is the original and the one on the bottom I edited in Snap Seed. I shared on Instagram the bottom photo.

I love that it doesn't matter at what skill you are with your photography anyone can participate. We all are learning collectively as a whole. I have had a camera in my hand since I was two. I had to be like my mom and my Grandma. My mom had her own darkroom and my grandma had a point and shoot. I had the same point and shoot as my Grandma, Yet my mom had a nice SLR camera that she took everywhere... So I was able to see both sides one from an Amateur who just was trying to preserve memories and one that love taking photos and took it more seriously.

So if you want to Grow and learn more and Challenge yourself I would say check out Tribe Tyler's 52 week Photo Challenge. You may surprise yourself. It was Gracious of Tyler to Host this fun challenge. If you click the button below it will take you to Tyler's Photo challenge...

Every week he Focuses on a different element/Technique. Every Monday is when the next weeks Challenge begins... Tyler has for me Made MONDAYS GREAT AGAIN...

Now let's be honest with ourselves, we have already said goodbye to Pieces of the original paradise pier once before and now it is really getting a new name and being rethemed to Pixar pier... So in reality we as Disneyfans have been down this road before. I mean this really isn't anything new at all is it? Remember when the fun wheel was the sunshine wheel? and when Screamn' had a Mickey in in the Loop? You don't? See I do. I was there before opening day. I was a Cast member back in 2001 and to be honest I was able to go during the preview back in December of 2000. I remember when there was no Bugs land or Cars land, No little mermaid. I remember when they were marketing the park to teens and Young Adults, they didn't want any Disney Characters walking the park. So when Disney started to get feedback in from the guests that it wasn't family friendly they had to do something... Its tough to be a bug was an original for opening day, but that was all. Where parts of cars land sits is where the farming section was for DCA.  I bet you didn't even know or remember when DCA even had its own version of Supreme Scream, of course it was aptly named the Maliboomer.

And as it is great to remember DCA, Paradise Pier 1.0 we have to remember we have to continue to move forward, as said by our favorite Uncle, Walt. Am I sad to see Paradise pier go, yeah a little, I mean lets be honest it is only in the name not really anything else... I mean they are repackaging the area and adding a thing or two here and renaming a few things... Disney is always revamping and reevaluating their needs and the guests needs and wants... So, they have to stay relevant and innovative to help to spark the imagination of the younger generation that way the innovation can continue on...

Oh and who can forget when we had a burger invasion (McDonalds) and an eatery called Pizza Oooh Mow mow? Change is Constant, that is the one thing we know. So farewell to Paradise pier and cant wait to see you Pixar Pier... Look forward to the new Theming... See you all beautified in June 2018...

Las Vegas Trip November 2017

You win some you lose some... Vegas doesn't have to be all about the Gambling, there are certainly a lot of other fun stuff to do in Vegas. We met up with our Friends Bill & Annette from thier youtube channel MrCoaster1 and we found some fun stuff to do.

Yep we got caught at the MOB Museum and they booked us Dan-o

Yep we got caught at the MOB Museum and they booked us Dan-o

Monday:

We Went to the Mob Museum that was Fun, entertaining and educational. It was some of the Vegas history but also just the history of the MOB in general. Very fascinating information. By the way we did get into a bit of trouble at the Museum, as you can see... From there we had lunch at Pieology, which Annette and Bill Had not tried. We figured since they like Blaze pizza and Mod Pizza we thought they would enjoy one of the west coast versions. To be honest I prefer Pizza Press.

IMG_5536.JPG

Then we headed on over to the atom museum... It was a nice nod to the Atomic bomb testing that happened in the deserts of Nevada and to the Atomic Age. After that was done we decided that at 2pm we had time to drive out to red-rock canyon. I have never been out there and that was a breathe of fresh air. It was Gorgeous. it was a cold crisp day a stunning 64 degrees. If you have the time and you want to get some good clean air away from the stale air that is circulated through the casinos, I highly suggest this wonderful place to clear your head and lungs.

Later on that Evening we parted ways with Bill & Annette and we headed over to have dinner with my Friend Tennille and her wonderful family at Shake Shack. From there I was able to take family photos. After that was all said and done we headed back to Tennille's house, where her and I worked on our shadow boxes from my birthday weekend.

Tuesday:

the Bodies exhibit at the LUXOR

the Bodies exhibit at the LUXOR

Matthew and I had THE BUFFET for breakfast at the Excalibur. It was ok food. Lots of options to choose from. We then met up with Bill and Annette, they had breakfast at Johnny Rockets, and we made our plans for the day. We walked over to the BODY exhibit which is located at the LUXOR. If you want to be a Doctor or get into medicine field or any field that deals with the human body this is the exhibit you would enjoy immensely. We went back to the EXCALIBUR and Annette and Bill went to rest while Matthew and I Gambled a bit. To be honest I should have gone to our room to rest a bit as well.

Gorgeous sunset at the Las Vegas Speedway

Gorgeous sunset at the Las Vegas Speedway

After our rest we headed out with the Gang, and went to Escapology. Our theme of our room was the CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS. We were 10 mins away from being thrown into a CUBAN prison...After we narrowly escaped a CUBAN PRISON, we headed out to the LAS VEGAS SPEEDWAY for the GLITTERING LIGHTS OF LAS VEGAS. Which the speedway is right next to Nellis airforce base. We arrived a bit earlier than that of opening... So, what did we do we went back to fill up the tank and then as we were getting closer to the front gate to wait for 5:30 to hit, we got distracted by the amazing sunset I have seen in a long time and the amazing show the fighter jets were putting on.

check out the Glittering Lights of Las Vegas Speedway...

It was such a nice night and then 530 hit and we were ready for the Glittering Lights of Las Vegas Speedway. It was so much fun. to be able to drive through the speedway and all those Christmas lights it was pretty magical. I felt like a kid again, all the wonder and excitement. If you ever get a chance to go I say do so. it is $20 a car load, pack up the family, pack some treats and spend the 20+ mins driving through the wintery, wonderland of dancing lights. I would have loved to go a second time or even to walk it instead of driving it.

After the Lights we decided we were a bit hungry so we went to Tacos El Gordo. OMG... they were YUMMY. We got the street tacos with Carne Asada... Check out the full video below... I also included the links in the buttons below of some of the places we went to...

Have you been to Vegas? and if so what was something you enjoyed going to? If not share what you would like to go and see while in vegas.

Girls Weekend

It is Important to make sure that we maintain our friendships, you know the good ones, the ones where you uplift each other and you both kick each other in the ass to get it in gear. The ones that know your dreams and help to push you to achieve them, and those that know your lows and help you get back to being balanced again...

This was at the beginning of our day...

This was at the beginning of our day...

My Friend Tennille (she is more like a sister than a friend really) came down this last weekend to help me celebrate my 40th birthday. I know I can't believe how loved I am either.. Actually I can, what I can't believe is that I turned 40 this year. It seems like yesterday that T and I were going to Dances in the Singles ward, or working at HELL (thats what we called the place we worked at when we met and forged our friendship).

Anyways back to our girls weekend. Tennille came down on Thursday the 9th and then on the 10th I went over to her Grandpa's house where she was staying. When I picked her up she was getting a haircut from her aunt M. We then proceeded to the Happiest place on Earth, no not to a masseuse, but rather to DISNEYLAND resort.

No kids, no spouses just two Girls having fun and making more memories... to add to the years of memories that we have already made. The day was exhausting from all the fun we had, the laughter we shared and the love between two friends. It was a busy day between the holiday weekend and the Run Disney event, and all the fun... We ok not we I  pooped out at about 10:30.

We got to the parking structure at about 845ish and then we ended up purchasing Tennille's ticket from the Disneyland app  while in line for the Mickey and friends parking structure. Once we parked we went through security and that is when it became even more apparent it was going to be busy. We waited for two trams I think which isn't that bad it was a lot of people and they were running both sides for the trams...

IMG_5300.JPG

We had a lunch reservations at Carthay circle. On our way over we ran into our friends Eighty5point5 AKA Rich and Jason. it was very serendipitous I really didn't know if we would see them at all as we all have busy schedules while in the parks and low and behold I look up near where the festival of holidays is being held and I see some familiar faces and I went up and said hi... It was such a pleasure meeting friends from the Tube of You and Twitter. To actually put a face to the names on the screen. It was a pleasure Gentlemen, my only regret is we didn't spend more time together... I didn't want to impose.

IMG_5302.JPG

This was the first part of my Birthday Celebration... enjoy

So we both had reservations for Carthay circle at the same time they had the dining package for world of color and we were going to do it but decided that day not to. Tennille had looked at the summer menu when we decided to book it, only to realize that they have a seasonal menu... so the Autumn menu it was... we shared an Angus burger and some cheesy balls, they have bread and as a nice gesture I was gifted a dessert to celebrate my birthday.

We will talk about the sip and savor AP pass for $45 later, I have a whole video on it so if you want to check on it now you can go and check out the channel. I have the video embedded. it as so much fun. I love hanging out with Tennille, One of the only friends I have that I can be 100% silly around. Please check it out it was fun to eat around the holidays, come and be apart of our silliness...

At the end of the night we couldn't decide on Churros or Ice Cream and we chose ice cream cause you can get churros that taste just a good at Costco but Mickey shaped Ice Cream is a little more difficult and more magical on Disney Property. Thank you for reading and watching our videos. I appreciate the time that you give to doing those activities.

A little Throw back for ya...

Back in the Summer of 2004 My Best friend Tennille, and her then Fiancée (they have been happily married almost 13 years (November 20th)) hung out with us at the DLR in CA and Jacob was kind enough to take our photos, our Engagement photos.

matt kory 109.jpg

These were taken about 8 weeks or so prior to the actual saying of the I DO'S... I can not believe how young we look here... I was 26 and Matthew was 33. He just turned 33 in May and I was about to turn 27 in November.

We had such a great day with our Friends and had a blast doing a photo shoot. So the first photo on here is at the Grand California hotel, the second photo is in Toontown and the third one is on the FunWheel...  Jacob is a few weeks older than I am and he had a love of photography as well. He currently works and lives in Vegas with his family and they are proud to call Las Vegas their home...

matt kory 130.jpg

I couldn't imagine my world with out Matthew in it... If I am being honest... Marriage is not easy and there are days I want to throw in the towel and that is just honest talk here... I also know that he is my world and my rock. he knows what I want and need before I have any clue.

Copy (2) of matt kory 006.jpg

We both love Disney and all things theme parks, he is more of a Clark Griswold and likes to rush and get things done, I like to Stop and smell the roses, and just try to take everything in... Man did we have such a great time... below are some more photos... with out any further interruption...

A big milestone...

As I sit here I am contemplating a Milestone that I will be celebrating in my life which is Turning 40... I know you are surprised as much as I am that I am Turning big 4-0... I wonder where the time has gone. Trust me I can't believe it either. I realize it should be met with some kind of fanfare and it will, very small fanfare. My BFF of almost 20 years and yes I can't believe it will be 20years here shortly is coming all the way from Vegas to celebrate with me... And where else to celebrate than at the most Happiest & Magical place on Earth.... the Disneyland Resort. We have all sorts of fun planned for next weekend. And yes I will be VLOGGING as well... so make sure to check out our youtube channel for all our content.

Korie Schultz 1st Birthday 11-8-1978

Korie Schultz 1st Birthday 11-8-1978

Right now is a time of reflection... What have I done/accomplished in my short but long 40 years on this Earth? I feel like I could do so much more and yet I am too tired already to try to accomplish anything. I know that since I was given a second chance at life I should make the most of it. I strive everyday to be the best person I can be and live a Christ like life. What I mean by that is having loving interactions with all the humans I come across in my day to day.

This is a picture from my First Birthday... I love how my two older cousins are going in for the sweets to help me out... and mind you all of those little people in the photo turned 40 this year... Man are we getting old. What other interesting things happened in  1977 is that it is also the debut of Starwars, the death of Elvis, Jimmy Carter was President, and most importantly SPACE MOUNTAIN makes it debut at DISNEYLAND CA!

Per WIKIPEDIA these actually happened on my Birthday:

Greek archaeologist Manolis Andronikos discovers the tomb of Philip II of Macedon at Vergina. San Francisco elects City Supervisor Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official of any large city in the U.S.

Anyways how do you plan to celebrate your next big milestone or how have you celebrated... please leave a comment below...

and the World Series winner is.... the Houston Astros...

Dodgers.jpg

I love the Dodgers and am so grateful that they made it to the World Series this year. It was a long time coming. With that being said, Did we really have to drag it out to 7 games... Game 5 was crazy... I couldn't believe how long it went on for...  Game 7 wow... Congrats to the Astros... I think they needed it more than we did! I am ok with the Astros Winning, it was the two best teams in Major league baseball duking it out and the best team won.

I would never had thought that it would take them 7 games to get the Series over. The Dodgers were my Father in Laws fave team and when they won and we knew they were going to the series I was in tears. I am sad that the Dodgers couldn't cinch this year. It was so close. #thisteam was great and I am hoping next year we can see a win on the World Series and then truly it would be 30 years... And besides this was Houston's First time winning a World Series... They did EARN IT... My Hats to you Houston.

So to my boys in blue lets have another kick ass year next year and actually take it all the way home... and by home I mean win the World Series... I know you all can do it. As mater says GET ER DONE... Lets win it for Tommy, Vin and the Fans... We have faith in you...
